“Ican’t believe how good Anil is looking these days!” says Ram Gopal Varma who’s just back after a week’s holiday. Anil Kapoor has been shooting quietly for a new Varma thriller 2 O’Clock Murder with the unlikeliest of co-stars, Nandana Dev Sen (yup Prof Amartya Sen’s younger daughter). The film also stars the monstrously talented Boman Irani and Suchitra Krishnamurthy (Mrs Shekhar Kapur). “These are people I’ve never worked with before,” says Anil enthusiastically. Another different kind of costar for Anil is Sameera Reddy in Sanjay Gupta’s Musafir, the sexiest film of Anil’s career, which starts shooting next week. The diligent actor with an ever-renewable enthusiasm- level has been working out to acquire bulges in all the right places. Anil’s new sinewy streamlined pumped-up hair-free look which is catching a lot of eyes is essentially for the two projects with Varma and Gupta. “When you work with such director’s you’ve got to run that extra mile,” AK’s eyes crinkle up in a smile.
